With up to 100,000 people showing up for Blackheath Fireworks, expectations are high. Thankfully Lewisham Council doesn't disappoint, with a flamboyant display that's one of the best in the London area. A funfair with food and drink stalls will be running from 4pm. When night falls and the crowds gather, the excitement is palpable before the fireworks start to detonate at 8pm in a blaze of light, colour and sound. This event is free and entry is on a first come first served basis, so it can't be guaranteed.
