Last year in the UK, 4,825 men between the ages of 20 and 45 killed themselves. As the suicide rate in women is decreasing it's been rising in men. Modern pressures coupled with unrealistic and out-dated definitions of masculinity play a huge part in this toxic problem. Men feel immense pressure not to be "weak", not to show emotion, not to fail and, above all, to take control – to be strong.
CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) are hosting this evening of talks and discussions that challenge these definitions of masculinity, featuring speakers such as Scroobius Pip, Rufus Hound, Jamie East and Simon Jack.
This event is free with guaranteed entry. You need to be registered to book, but rest assured, we won't charge you a penny.
