Joining Carousel for one week only, Ukrainian-born Olia Hercules wants to introduce us to the joys of The Wild East. She hopes to to recreate summer evenings as a child in Ukraine, where she would share home-cooked dishes with her large family around a kitchen table. Olia has a come a long way since then, being named as one of The Observer's Rising Stars and releasing her debut cookbook Mamushka. Accompanied by a soundtrack of Ukrainian-gypsy-punk-rock and Moldovan ska, Olia wants everyone to know that Eastern European food can be “authentic but at the same time modern, fun, crazy and suitable for young and old” – come join the party…
