Chortle Comedy Book Festival: Helen Lederer

A debut novel from a seasoned comedy veteran

When former star Millie is asked to be the front woman for a new diet pill, she naively believes that all her troubles will be solved. She will have money, the weight will be gone, and maybe she’ll get more sex…comedian, actress and writer Helen Lederer presents her hilarious debut, Losing It, shortlisted for the PG Woodhouse Comedy Literary Prize and The Edinburgh First Book Award. Helen wrote and performed her own material at London's famous Comedy Store, as one of the early '80s comedians including French and Saunders, Rik Mayall and Harry Enfield. She was a guest on ITV's Saturday Night Live with her solo comedy act and in sketches with Harry Enfield as well as performing at the first Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal along with Lenny Henry. Her breakthrough into television soon made her instantly recognisable as one of Britain's best-known comedy character actresses. Please arrive on time as latecomers may not be admitted. Proof of concession will be required when collecting tickets. All tickets are inclusive of booking fees.
