Cinderella

This enchanting fairytale marks the return of panto to the London Palladium

For the first time in nearly three decades, this Christmas will see the magic of pantomime come to the London Palladium with a star-studded production of Cinderella. Staged by Qdos Entertainment, the world’s biggest pantomime producer, the most enchanting rags-to-riches fairy tale of them all graces the stage of the West End’s most famous theatre this Christmas from 9 December 2016 to 15 January 2017. Featuring an all-star cast including Natasha J Barnes (who covered for Sheridan Smith's absence in Funny Girl), Paul O'Grady, Lee Mead and Amanda Holden, this seems set to be the hit of the festive season. This lush, elaborate and spectacular production features an sumptuous costumes, magnificent scenery and the unmissable and breath-taking moment when Cinderella swaps her rags for a stunning ball gown and is transported to the Prince’s Ball. The festive family show will be co-directed by Qdos’ Michael Harrison, the producer behind West End hits including Gypsy and Mrs Henderson Presents, and award-winning choreographer Andrew Wright (Mrs Henderson Presents, Singin’ In The Rain). Cinderella will mark the first pantomime at the iconic venue in 29 years, following a long history from 1948 to 1987 of the theatre staging lavish traditional Christmas shows featuring the biggest stars of the day from Julie Andrews to Peter Sellers. We, for one, hope the custom comes back in full force. This one's going to be a sensation. There will be moving lights during the performance which will have a strobing effect. Suitable for ages 5+. Children must be able to sit unaided, in their own seat and be attentive to the performance so as not to distract other members of the audience. Admittance to the auditorium is at the discretion of the theatre management. Runtime: TBC.
