The Crystal Palace International Film Festival bring you the best in feature film, shorts, animation and documentary, from a submission pool of filmmakers based all round the world. Founded in 2009, their rich and diverse programme, commitment to global and independent filmmakers and prestigious panel of judges – from award-winning comedian Johnny Vegas to Neville Astley, creator of Peppa Pig – makes the CPIFF a truly exceptional experience and celebration of film.  What began with a fire at 295 George Street in Toronto becomes the catalyst to share the story of over 100,000 children who came to Canada as indentured farm labour and domestics. This is the forgotten history of many Canadians, both of the children themselves and their descendants. Running time: 42 minutes. - Ladies of Science: the Extraordinary Story Of Mary Rosse And Mary Ward directed by Alessandra Usai. The documentary follows a series of interviews and dramatisations depicting the lives of Lady Mary Rosse and Mary Ward who had outstanding successes in the fields of science in the Victorian age. running time: 56 minutes. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Doors open at 7pm and films start at 7.45.
