The Crystal Palace International Film Festival bring you the best in feature film, shorts, animation and documentary, from a submission pool of filmmakers based all round the world. Founded in 2009, their rich and diverse programme, commitment to global and independent filmmakers and prestigious panel of judges – from award-winning comedian Johnny Vegas to Neville Astley, creator of Peppa Pig – makes the CPIFF a truly exceptional experience and celebration of film. Running order: Feature - Two Down directed by Matthew Butler. A young woman’s world is turned upside down when an injured hit man holds her and the local delivery boy hostage in her own home in this dark comedy. Executive produced by Stephen Fry and Sir Derek Jacobi. Running time: 1 hour 28 minutes. Short Films - Silent Film directed by Matthew Stuart Smith. A musician awakes to discover she can no longer hear after a strange signal is received by a local television transmitter from outer space in this silent film. Running time: 5 minutes. - Vanaka: Silver Girl directed by Min Reid. This stunning video, shot in the Highlands of Scotland, is about finding ‘Silver Linings’ in life. Running time: 5 minutes. - Power State directed by Joshua Goener. A bribe tests the will of a union leader as he battles corrupt police and an oppressive government in his fight for justice on the picket lines. Running time: 15 minutes. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Doors open at 7pm and films start at 7.45.
