Everyone knows that women love chocolate and the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. So, Smudged Lipstick Events thought they’d throw a really cool singles event with multi-award winning chocolatiers Jaz and Jul's and renowned chef and scientist Toral Shah of The Urban Kitchen Happening, in their cool shop basement in Angel for "International Chocolate Week" (yes, there’s a week solely devoted to chocolate). Death By Chocolate Dating is a great way to meet cool people whilst eating and learning about chocolate – what more could you want? How Death by Chocolate Dating works: To start: You’ll be greeted at the bar where you’ll be able to indulge in some of Jaz and Juls’ yummy chocolate/booze-infused creations before heading down to the basement. The Eating Part: Starting with a brief introduction from Jaz and Jul’s about the incredibly interesting world of chocolate making. Expect some cool trivia and learn how to get the most of chocolate tasting by using all 5 of your senses. Try different chocolates region by region in bar, ice-cream, truffle and drinking form over 3 rounds of tastings.The (exotic) regions from which you’ll be trying the various chocolates are Madagascar, Vietnam and Peru. Then move around the room as so you can meet everyone, though this is definitely not a speed date. The Aftermath: Discuss your faves over a few more drinks at the bar and some really cool tunes. Over 18s only. Valid ID required. Please note that all Jaz and Jul’s chocolate is organically sourced and many are suitable for vegans. All of their amazing chocolate is hand-crafted with their hot chocolates combining dark chocolate shavings with fruit oils and spices. The mouth-watering flavours include Raspberry Dream, Cinnamon Rose and Caramelicious.
