Designed for all abilities, this four-hour workshop will be a heady mixture of art history, drawing, expert tuition and creative experimentation; all set to an eclectic playlist and framing a delicious lunch and drink from the revered Carousel kitchen. With tutor Dan Whiteson’s (Drink + Draw at The Exhibit) background in both representative and expressive portraiture, you can expect a masterclass in the ancient, and challenging, art of drawing the face. Using references as diverse as Auerbach to Sargent, and an emphasis on freedom of expression set alongside technical expertise, this is a portrait workshop like no other. Class breakdown: - 1 hour of art history, experimental drawing exercises and tuition based on theme - 1 hour lunch (scheduled for 2.15pm) - 2 hour life drawing class inspired by theme Over 16s only. Valid ID may be required. Tickets includes: any combination of two small plates for lunch, a drink and all drawing materials. No photography of the life model permitted.
