Doctor Faustus

Kit Harington makes his long-awaited return to the West End

Christoper Marlowe's Doctor Faustus is getting the Jamie Lloyd treatment. The Jamie Lloyd company will be taking an adaptation of the text to the Duke Of York's stage this Spring, featuring Game Of Thrones actor Kit Harington playing the lead role (fun fact – Kit was named after Christopher Marlowe). Further Casting includes Olivier Award-winning Jenna Russell as Mephistopheles, winner of The Stage Award for Acting Excellence Jade Anouka as Wagner and Forbes Masson as Lucifer. Doctor Faustus makes a deal with the devil, selling his soul in exchange for the ability to perform anything he pleases with black magic. Although he initially revels in a lifestyle of excess and excellence, it soon goes awry (as deals with the devil are wont to do). With one of the West End's most acclaimed directors at the helm and Kit taking his acting chops to the stage, this is sure to be a big hit. Get tickets before it's too late. The Duke Of York's Theatre has been around for some time: it opened in 1892 as the Trafalgar Square Theatre, and was where Puccini first saw Madame Butterfly. It shortened its name to the Trafalgar Theatre in 1894, before becoming the Duke Of York's a year later to honour the future King George V. It was Grade II listed by English Heritage in September 1960. All ticket prices for Doctor Faustus are inclusive of any booking fees: YPlan will not charge you any additional amounts for your tickets. When booking tickets, you can pick your seat from the seatmap once you've selected a date. For your comfort and security, you may be subject to additional checks on your visit to London theatres. Your patience and understanding is appreciated while these take place. Valid ID required for ticket collection. West End theatre ticket sales are final and bookings cannot be amended, exchanged or refunded (unless of course the performance is cancelled). All listed offers are subject to availability and can be withdrawn at any time.
