Dune was a long time in the making, with both Alejandro Jodorowsky and Ridley Scott attempting to bring Frank Herbert’s intergalactic romance to the big screen. David Lynch succeeded where others failed, with the resultant work a moody tale filled with intrigue, subterfuge and, of course, fearsome sand worms. Critics were divided at the time, but today Dune's cult appeal is showing no signs of diminishing. Latecomers may not be admitted.
