Edinburgh Previews: Abandoman + Phil Wang

Get ready for hilarity to ensue

K Twins Comedy Presents a double-header Edinburgh Preview Show featuring Abandoman and Phil Wang. Abandoman: Ireland’s top comedy hip hop improv team, Abandoman, create hilarious freestyle songs at lightning speed based on audience suggestions; no two performances are ever the same. Previous winners of the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year, Musical Comedy Awards and the Adelaide Fringe Festival "Best Comedy Newcomer" Awards, the past few years have seen Abandoman performing through Europe, the US, Canada and Australia. Amongst many TV appearances, Abandoman have previously appeared on Alan Carr’s Happy Hour, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and The Ray D’Arcy Show (RTE). They are firm favourites at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and have stormed numerous festivals such as Bestival, Latitude, Vodafone Festival in Iveagh Gardens, Altitude, Glastonbury and V Festival. "Flight of the Conchords meets 8 Mile. Nothing short of genius." – Chortle "Truly innovative." – The Guardian Phil Wang: Phil Wang is rapidly making a name for himself both in the UK and internationally with clever lines and a trademark laid-back style. As well as a hugely successful run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2014, he also performed at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival that year and Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2015. Phil's wry outlook and laid-back style have seen him perform on Funniest Moments of 2014 (Channel 4), The Rob Brydon Show (BBC2), Three at the Fringe (BBC3), BBC Radio 4’s Fresh From the Fringe and Best Behaviour, and the Comedy Live Lounge (BBC Radio 1). In 2010, the former President of the Cambridge Footlights won the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year Award and in 2011 Phil was awarded Comedy Central’s Funniest Student Award. Don’t miss the chance to see Phil try out new material for his next Edinburgh Fringe show. "Certain belly laughs.” – Sunday Times "A well-rounded young comic headed for greater things." – Chortle "He’s an intelligent, attuned observer and his thoughts reward attentive listening." – The Scotsman Lineups are subject to change. Latecomers may be admitted at specific times at the venue's discretion. Doors open: 6pm. Show starts: 7pm.
