Time Out says
Battersea Jazz Festival returns for its fifth edition this June, bringing ten days of live music, collaboration and improvisation across Battersea. This year also comes with a refreshed identity and continued growth for a festival that has quickly become a key date in London’s jazz calendar, with tickets now available at a discounted rate of £16, down from £20.
The festival opens at The Clapham Grand with a striking jazz ballet, where the Hugo Jennings Big Band and E33 Dance Company reimagine Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet in a bold mix of orchestral jazz and choreography. Across the programme, performances move between churches, theatres and riverside spaces, showcasing artists including the QOW Trio, Genevieve Namazzi Quartet, Deschanel Gordon Trio, Jim Davison Quartet and the Emily Masser–Alex Clarke Quintet.
At St Mary’s Battersea, swing takes centre stage with saxophonist Scott Hamilton alongside Nat Steele, while other nights lean into modern improvisation and emerging UK talent. It’s a festival built on contrast and discovery, with each venue adding a different texture to Battersea’s evolving live music scene.
