The Sacconi Quartet joined percussion virtuoso Joby Burgess in performing great works by contemporary composers, Golijov and Rautavaara. The second half is entirely dedicated to Errollyn Wallen, who became the first black woman to perform at The Proms. And tonight, she’ll be accompanied by the Arensky Chamber Orchestra.
