Good Chance's Encampment: Art In Humanitarian Crises

Join a lively discussion of the role of the arts in humanitarian crises

Having set up a temporary theatre of hope in the Calais refugee camp, Good Chance are delighted to be pitching their Dome on Festival Terrace at the Southbank Centre in London this summer. Presented by Good Chance Theatre in association with Pan Intercultural Arts, this talk is part of Encampment’s Nights of Hope – evenings of music and discussion that seek to reinvigorate the discussion on displacement and asylum. Tonight’s talk is followed by music from members of the Palestine Youth Orchestra. What is driving the tendency for arts projects to emerge in times and places of crisis? How can the arts help or hinder the struggle to endure and overcome a crisis? Hear questions such as these discussed by artists, refugees, directors and others affected by or working in the relevant fields. Runtime: 6:30pm-9:30pm. This event is free and entry is on a first come first served basis, so it can't be guaranteed. We need your card details to store the event information in "My Tickets", but rest assured, we won't charge you a penny.
