Half A Sixpence

Lovely tunes from the undoubted hit of the summer

Half a Sixpence is a beautiful revival of the classic musical, brought up to date by one of theatre’s greatest creative teams. This imaginative adaptation of H.G. Wells's novel Kipps: The Story Of A Simple Soul is a completely fresh take on the classic, reuniting book-writer Julian Fellowes with iconic composers George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. The musical follows the tale of Arthur Kipps, a poor orphan with a hard life as a draper’s assistant in the early 1900s. Although ordinary, he is a charming young man, who dreams of a more fulfilling world. When he surprisingly becomes heir to a fortune, he is propelled into the upper class society and everything he knew about life becomes unstable, as he wrestles with his own identity and relationships. Charming and timeless, this nostalgic production will also feature a host of original songs by David Heneker including Flash Bang Wallop, Money To Burn and Half A Sixpence. Suitable for all ages. Runtime: 2 hours 45 mins, including an interval. All ticket prices for Half A Sixpence are inclusive of booking fees: YPlan will not charge you any additional amounts for your tickets. When booking tickets, you can pick your seat from the seatmap once you've selected a date. For your comfort and security, you may be subject to additional checks on your visit to London theatres. Your patience and understanding is appreciated while these take place. Valid ID required for ticket collection.
