The Doctor’s Orders’ Hip-Hop vs R&B has been going from strength to strength in the last two years and since the move to The Garage has kicked things up another gear. For this very special party they're opening up the second room to celebrate the release of J Dilla’s The Diary, while the main room sees the best resident lineup in London rock the best hip-hop and R&B bangers. Going back to back in the hip-hop vs R&B challenge each month they have Kiss FM’s king of hip-hop, Shortee Blitz, alongside BBC 1Xtra’s voice of R&B, CJ Beatz, and one of the most in demand DJs in the city, the incredible CWD. Warming things up with his incredible selection of floor fillers is The Doctor’s Orders resident Russ Ryan. To celebrate the long-awaited official release of J Dilla’s vocal album The Diary (originally recorded for MCA in 2002) The Doctor's Orders have Mr Thing, Eric Lau, Kidkanevil and Spin Doctor spinning Dilla all night in room two. Featuring production from Pete Rock, Madlib, Nottz, Hi Tek, Karriem Riggins and of course Dilla himself, this album (now released on Nas’s Mass Appeal label) is a high-water mark in the short career of the late great James Yancey.
