Italian composer, singer and priest Monteverdi led an unorthodox life. The Renaissance revolutionary's influence has filtered down to the present day, as evinced by I Fagiolini. The vocal ensemble, founded by Robert Hollingworth in the mid-'80s, has won a number of awards for its unusual interpretations of the classics. 17th century solo and ensemble pieces are deftly recreated in the ensemble's stirring tribute to Claudio Giovanni Antonio Monteverdi.
