Italy is a huge player in the global wine market and this course opens the door to its wine secrets, as well as letting you taste some of the best Italian wines around. First, you’ll learn how taste is influenced by the terroir, and they'll discuss the different cultivation methods used in vineyards, including organic and biodynamic. You’ll also discover how wine is made, and understand the most important Italian grapes, producers and regions, alongside soil, climate and vinification. In addition, you’ll get to grips with the fundamentals of wine tasting – look, smell and taste – as well as learning how to use our tongue and emotions to judge a wine. Finally, you’ll get to taste some fantastic Italian wines and judge them using your flavour wheel. Our wine course includes small Italian bites to complement the wines you will be tasting.
