Jazz In New York: The Swinging 1930s-40s

A nostalgic night in swinging New York

The follow up to the sell-out show of 2015 continues, and this time around the Jazz Repertory Company have programmed some marvellous small band music (Artie Shaw’s Gramercy Five, John Kirby And His Orchestra, The Raymond Scott Quintette) alongside the big band music of Duke Ellington and Dizzy Gillespie. In the first half the very best of swing will be showcased, and in the second half you'll hear it evolve into the exciting sounds of bebop before your very ears. Pete Long, Richard Pite and Enrico Tomasso will be joined by a superb lineup of jazz talent in an evening every bit as exciting and enjoyable as part one. Please arrive on time as latecomers may not be admitted. Upon arrival you'll be allocated the best available ticket with a face value of either £36, £28, or £23.
