Kelly Convey + Jacob Hawley

Refreshing and relatable

Jacob Hawley (Comedy Store King Gong Winner, 4* Brighton Fringe 2016) brings introspective storytelling and heartfelt japes. Raised in a working-class Brexit town, he now boasts an arts degree, a vegetarian girlfriend and an almost convincing concern for climate change. It's not quite Billy Elliot, but it's something. ''A more nuanced exploration of youth, half-hearted liberalism, family ties and artistic expression, he drew immediate and repeated laughs from the crowd. He was dry, perceptive and unexpected. A darn sight more entertaining than the majority of fringe comedians we've caught so far." – Arts Award Voice Kelly Convey is an “in-your-face and reassuringly confident” (Marissa Burgess – Chortle) comedian who is not one to mince her words when giving audiences an insight into what modern women really think. While her outspoken and forward thinking musings may go against the grain, “there’s a winning authenticity to her material” (Steve Bennett – Chortle) that is refreshing and relatable. This authenticity has led to a whole host of accolades and acknowledgements in her whirlwind rise through the comedy scene. Voted by The Metro as “1 of 9 Hilarious Women to Look Out for in 2017”, Kelly Convey is, no doubt, one to watch. Over 16s only. Food and drink cannot be brought in, and bags will be searched for security purposes.
