What is it?
Ready to get cosy? In partnership with IKEA, Time Out has launched a bunch of events dedicated to relaxation and mindfulness, known as Comfort Fest. This is a workshop in Kintsugi, the Japanese art of embracing your imperfections. Here in the comforting surrounds of IKEA Croydon, you’ll learn how to mend chipped and broken china using the Kintsugi method, which celebrates the scars on an object as a source of beauty and strength. You simply show up, choose an item of broken porcelain from the IKEA collection on offer, and get taken through the process of mending each section, piece by piece, using resin glue and liquid gold. The main thing? You can’t rush this. Each piece has to be applied and repaired slowly and mindfully. A lesson in ultimate calm, for ultimate comfort. And all for just £10!
When is it?
Monday November 21 at 7pm.
