Live out your best rom-com fantasies this summer at this free floating cinema
Highlights?
We’ve teamed up with Hinge, the dating app designed to be deleted, to bring you a curated selection of the best movies (in our humble opinion) to watch on the coolest date we could conjure up this summer. Introducing: Movies on the River – the ultimate sunset date, complete with a London cruise and one of four iconic rom-coms to settle down with for the eve. Simply hop aboard a City Cruises boat and unwind as you cruise along the Thames before the sun goes down and the movie begins. Dreamy, right? Well, that’s because it is – and let’s be honest, Hinge knows exactly how to bring a vibe, so you’re in good hands.
When and where?
This event runs for four days only, from August 14 to August 17. Check-in starts at 7:30pm and the boat departs at 8pm from Tower Millennium Pier. Following a short cruise along the river, the boat will moor up around sunset for the film screening. Depending on the film length the boat will head back to Tower Millenium Pier by approx. 11pm.
Why go?
Well firstly, it’s completely free. And secondly, with the unique combination of water, sun(set) and a feel-good movie for two, there’s almost zero chance you won’t have a successful date – even if they don’t share their popcorn. All jokes aside, what could be better than a sundowner date over London with a new potential bae? Truth be told, we can’t think of one. That’s why we’ve hand-picked four iconic films to showcase on the big screen – the cinema-style screen up on top deck, that is – as the ideal setting for you to get up close and personal with your date. Who knows – the date might go so well that you’ll both delete the Hinge app after your date! How’s that for a truly unforgettable summer date? Don't worry about the weather; you can still watch the movie from the lower deck.
