Life Drawing In The Museum: The Classical Ideal + The Nude

An immersive life drawing class in the historic interiors of the Soane Museum

For the first time ever, Sir John Soane's Museum is offering visitors to the chance to attend a life drawing class in its atmospheric interiors. A remarkable, listed Georgian building, the Museum will serve as a stunning backdrop to this immersive event. Working with two models, participants will have the opportunity to create short, fleeting views of a semi-draped nude promenading through the back of the Museum. They will then work on longer views of a posed nude in the mirrored Library-Dining Room. Over 18s only. Valid ID required. Each ticket includes a glass of wine and all art materials. Photography in any form is not permitted. Only pencil may be used for drawing in the Museum. Participants will be asked to leave all belongings (other than art materials) in the Art Room for the duration of the workshop. Only workshop participants will be in the Museum at this time so the Art Room will be perfectly secure. Please note: participants will be split into two groups upon arrival, one group will be assigned to draw in the back of the Museum first, the other will be assigned to draw in the Library Dining Room. The groups will then switch.
