Boisdale of Belgravia's host Pierre-Jean Sauvion, aka "The Pleasure Maker", is a young heir to a long line of pioneers and winemakers. Pierre grew up at the Château du Cléray in Vallet, one of the oldest properties in Sèvre-et-Maine, and will tell you he has Muscadet in his veins. After working his first vintage in Saint-Emilion and with an oenologist's degree in his pocket he took off for foreign climes to broaden his horizons, working vintages at the Chappellet vineyard in California and the Howard Park Estate in Western Australia. With this unique two-fold expertise, he returned to France to tend to the Sauvignon vines with meticulous care and passion. Pierre is now heading up the entire Loire portfolio for Les Grands Chais de France, the family owned world's leading producer of French wine.
