Alexander Scriabin’s Third Symphony is deftly explored by Vladimir Jurowski as London Philharmonic Orchestra tackle three bold and complex works. Scriabin composed the piece at the turn of the 20th century, a time when his world view was becoming ever more radical. Leonidas Kavakos plays violin in a programme that includes:
- Oliver Knussen: Scriabin settings for chamber orchestra
- Jean Sibelius: Violin Concerto
- Alexander Scriabin: Symphony No.3 in C (The Divine Poem)
