Music from the late 19th and early 20th centuries is the focus as Thierry Fischer revisits great French composers. The conductor will lead London Philharmonic Orchestra as they perform pieces by Saint-Saëns and his younger compatriot Maurice Ravel. Inspired by the new music erupting in Harlem’s jazz bars, Ravel’s Piano Concerto is a joyous, uptempo number. The programme includes:
- Georges Bizet: Symphony in C
- Maurice Ravel: Piano Concerto in G
- Camille Saint-Saëns: Symphony No.3 in C minor (Organ)
