Finnish conductor Jukka-Pekka Saraste has an affinity with late Romantic music, and brings a virtuosic touch to his work. He’s served as the principle guest conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and won the Finnish State Prize for Music. Tonight, he’s conducting the London Philharmonic Orchestra, navigating between Schumann’s majestic violin concerto and Bruckner’s epic Symphony No 8.
