Filmmaker Isis Thompson, will discuss and demystify the process of shooting a documentary. Using raw footage from her own work, Thompson will discuss how camera work and shot selection affect the way audiences experience character and space within the frame. With clips from other filmmakers working in the industry today, Thompson will unpack a variety of differing shooting techniques and approaches: from the use of the Interrotron, to the three-shot interview, to the pros and cons of working with DoP. The session will cover all angles in pursuit of the perfect documentary shot. The doors close 15 minutes after the event has started.
