Much Ado About Nothing (Or Love’s Labour’s Won)

The RSC takes Much Ado About Nothing to the Theatre Royal Haymarket

After an extremely successful run at the Chichester Festival Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company will be taking their adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing to the Haymarket stage, alongside Shakespeare's other great romcom, Love's Labour Lost. The matching events, characters and themes makes the two plays excellent companion pieces. Directed by Christopher Luscombe, the productions are set either side of the First World War, with Much Ado About Nothing being set post-war in a world that has changed forever, with the roaring '20s right around the corner. At the start of Much Ado About Nothing, two sparring lovers meet again after a long absence and continue to quarrel, until a scheme is set underfoot to set them back up. Excellent on its own or viewed alongside Love Labour's Lost, this is the perfect way to celebrate the Bard's 400th birthday. The Theatre Royal Haymarket, known originally as The Little Theatre In The Hay, is a Grade I listed building situated in the heart of the West End. Designed and constructed by John Potter in 1720, it is one of Britain's most treasured theatres. Today, the Haymarket strives to produce memorable theatrical experiences for audiences from around the world. Note that Gallery seats are cushioned benches, with 65 steps to this level. ★★★★★ – Daily Telegraph ★★★★★ – The Times ★★★★★ – Daily Mail All ticket prices for Much Ado About Nothing Lost are inclusive of any booking fees: YPlan will not charge you any additional amounts for your tickets.
