Music doesn’t have to tick predefined boxes to work. Often, the more awkward and unconventional it is, the better. Music for Museums sees Whitechapel Gallery celebrate sounds that wilfully refuse to be pigeon-holed. Join cellist Oliver Coates as he performs Opus 17a and Opus 17b. The brainchild of conceptual artist Hanne Darboven (1941-2009), these mathematically devised pieces are hypnotic, haunting and strangely beautiful.
This is a standing event, with limited seating provided on request.
