Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid was a new kind of Western, one that reinvented the West as the place we all wanted it to be. Focussing on two outlaws who rob trains, Butch and Sundance operate in an ever changing country, one attempting to become more civilised. Cue a posse hired to hunt down the two robbers, who promptly escape to new life in Bolivia. Starring a comendable cast including Paul Newman, Robert Redford and Katerine Ross, their perfectly-pitched performances produce some of the most lovable anti-heroes of all time and, coupled with an insightful and nostalgic screenplay, make this the must-see film of its genre.
