Unfortunately for her, her mother Donna (Meryl Streep, on top form as always) has had quite the torrid past, and after some investigating, Sophie is left with three potential fathers. An impulse wedding invite finds all three men (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgard as you've never seen them before!) reunited with Donna in a mad-cap comedy that leaves all the characters screaming out S.O.S!
