Orchestra Of The Age Of Enlightenment: The Works

Getting Bach to basics

Tonight, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment are unpicking the notes that make up some of the world’s finest music. Delve into two baroque masterpieces by Bach and Vivaldi, with a chance to listen to the pieces in full and take part in a Q&A. Sigiswald Kuijken is reviving a rare instrument – the Violoncello da Spalla. That's a cello you play from a strap around your neck. Ouch? Programme: - Vivaldi: Concerto in D for violoncello da spalla, RV 403 - Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No 3 in G Seating allocated on arrival. Pro tip: there'll be jazz in the bar from 6pm. There'll be no interval in this performance (due to end around 8:20pm).
