Tonight, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment are unpicking the notes that make up some of the world’s finest music. Delve into two baroque masterpieces by Bach and Vivaldi, with a chance to listen to the pieces in full and take part in a Q&A. Sigiswald Kuijken is reviving a rare instrument – the Violoncello da Spalla. That's a cello you play from a strap around your neck. Ouch?
Programme:
- Vivaldi: Concerto in D for violoncello da spalla, RV 403
- Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No 3 in G
Seating allocated on arrival. Pro tip: there'll be jazz in the bar from 6pm. There'll be no interval in this performance (due to end around 8:20pm).
