This is exactly what it says on the tin – the songs of Peggy Lee, the music of Duke Ellington, all performed in the style of the Benny Goodman Quartet. Lineup: - Georgina Jackson (from BBC Radio 2 + Ronnie Scott’s): vocals/trumpet - Pete Long (from ‘Echoes of Ellington’, Ronnie Scott’s + the Goodman Carnegie Hall Concert): clarinet - Nick Dawson: piano - Anthony Kerr: vibes - Dave Chamberlain: bass - Richard Pite: drums A unique collaboration of three extremely influential names in jazz, creating a rarely performed repertoire of classics. This concert is one of a series during 2015 to raise funds to support the work of the National Jazz Archive, and is staged in conjunction with the Jazz Repertory Company, the people behind the popular Benny Goodman And Glenn Miller at Carnegie Hall, and 100 Years Of Jazz In 99 Minutes.
