Built in 1848, Regent Street Cinema was the first in the country to show moving pictures. With a recent renovation restoring it to its former grandeur, it has added an old school touch to the capital's movie scene. Tonight, enjoy the best known work of experimental documentary pioneer Dziga Vertov, Man With A Movie Camera. A poetic vision of urban life in 1920s Russia, Vertov’s extraordinary montage presents a bustling city at work and at play – a high-octane metropolis invigorated by an increasingly industrialised economy. Musical score by Michael Nyman.
