Settling Scores: The Media, The Police + The Miners’ Strike
Airing out issues, with a touch more truth than has previously been seen
Settling Scores is a new collection of essays published for the 30th anniversary of the miners’ strike. Tonight, BBC correspondent Nick Jones is talking about information he’s found in recently published cabinet papers, including files the government would rather keep hidden. Plus media campaigner and journalist Tony Harcup is analysing the controversy surrounding the TV coverage of Orgreave in 1984. They're looking at how the media, politicians, and police redrafted recent history.
