Strip‘n’Roll, Hoo Has + MainSqueeze Live

Three big-sound rock and blues bands tear it up

If you like live music, then this one-off event at Paper Dress Vintage in Hackney Central is gonna blow the speakers out of your amp. The night boasts three rock and blues bands, and the gig has a Pay What You Want entrance policy, so you'll only pay what you can afford. Plus, Paper Dress Vintage do some top-notch cocktails for you to get your hands on too. Check out the lineup below. Lineup: - Strip‘n’Roll The '60s and '70s inspired no bullshit rockers are back after a short break having refreshed and reformed. The band has won awards for their recent album Mash Up, so expect lots of good stuff. - Hoo Has A Local band channeling the spirit of Gun Club, Violent Femmes, Blur and Jimi Hendrix in a wild but honest mashup of their own style. - Mainsqueeze A blues, soul, and rockfour-piece from Canterbury, Mainsqueeze take influences from '60s and '70s rock, blues and jazz – think Steely Dan, The Beach Boys, Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis and Pink Floyd to name a few. This is one of MainSqueeze’s first shows together but individually their musical ventures have taken them around the block – for drummer Denis Curry touring the US in the '90s; for guitarist and front man Andy Lester playing support for the likes of Dr Feelgood, Joe Jackson, Geno Washington and Mungo Jerry in the early 80’s, and more recently award-winning blues artist Katie Bradley. They will be opening the evening's events at 8:30pm. Over 18s only. Valid ID required. This event is free, but there will be a Pay What You Want donation scheme on the door. The gigs can reach capacity, so entry can't be guaranteed. You need to be registered to store the event information in your profile, but rest assured, we won't charge you a penny.
