Tales Of Transformation: Faust And The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Storytelling in the cemetery with the UK's only professional blind storyteller

As dusk falls in Brompton cemetery the gatekeeper will guide you down a lantern lit path, picking your way through the tombstones until you reach the chapel. Find a pew by candlelight, fortify your spirits with a complimentary glass of Hendrick's Gin and listen to Giles Abbott performing a selection of tales of the occult including Goethe’s Faust and the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. This is a chance to hear these classic stories as you've never heard them before – in a graveyard. Giles Abbott started storytelling in 1999 in response to sudden, but not total, sight loss. Since then he has become an award-winning storyteller who just happens to be the UK’s only professional blind storyteller. His repertoire includes Iron-Age myth from British and Norse traditions, Greek myths and folk tales from around the world. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Ticket include a Hendrick's Gin Cocktail.
