Tellit Festival: Charmaine Wombwell As Scarlett Shambles – It Used To Be Me

Presented as part of Tellit – the UK's first ever festival of true-life storytelling

Brave, honest and funny, this heart-warming physical noir performance from newcomer Charmaine Wombwell, explores the desperation and humour of heartbreak and is inspired by the dark clown within us all. Scarlet’s beautiful tales and earthy sounds reveal the sometimes fleeting connections between people that can make a mark on our lives forever. (She hopes to make her mark on yours). Charmaine trained at LISPA, a school dedicated to enabling a new generation of performing artists and inspiring a lasting curiosity in life. Charmaine's work is influenced by clown, love, music and the tragic comedy found in the desperation of heartbreak. "endearing, funny, and full of humanity… had me in stitches." – Broadway Baby "an approach to inclusivity that others could learn from…See it now while you can still claim to have discovered a major talent." – Fringe Review "A gifted and natural mime with sharp comic timing, Wombwell expresses emotion, action and a vivid eroticism in captivating style." – The Scotsman All ticket holders will be subject to a £1.50 membership charge for the Canal Cafe Theatre on the door, if they are not already a member.
