Western classical music has been shaped by a variety of instruments, and this exhibition gathers them all to understand how. From gold to ivory, these instruments tell a social story as well as a cultural one. These objects, loaned from the V&A, relate to composers, status, and art. The exhibition even has a harpsichord from 1521…now that’s some old time music.
