Feel the burn on this fiery family day out on Sunday 25 September at Shoreditch’s culinary hub, the Red Market, for £10 (plus booking fee). Celebrating every aspect of the tasty chilli, the festival's events are focussed on eating, growing and cooking with the ingredient and are designed for those who like to add a little heat to their mealtimes. Festivalgoers will be able to take part in workshops, tasting sessions, pick up spicy supplies in the market, enjoy entertainment and live music throughout the day and sip on chilli-infused drinks at the bar. Celebrating the best of local and established traders, patrons can expect individual chilli signatures, as well as an afternoon of DJ sets and live music. Acclaimed street vendor turned private catering company, White Men Can’t Jerk, will be one of the featured vendors serving up delicious dishes on the day. Featuring the likes of 'Burning Desire', 'Sidekick Sauces' and 'Firefoods', The Festival Of Heat boasts the widest selection of UK- grown chilli producers. In an age where local trade and community values are being eroded by wider global interests, Flavour Gurus from Made In Hackney reveal their secrets in the Festival Kitchen through masterclasses, workshops and demonstrations, including Growing The Perfect Chilli, and Cooking With Chilli where you can learn to achieve the perfect heat. Even in the summer, over 3,500 chi;li enthusiasts can handle the heat.
