The Festival Of Heat: London's Chilli Festival

With live music, chilli tastings and workshops, this is gonna be one spicy day out

The Festival Of Heat is coming to Old Street. It's the perfect opportunity to enjoy chilli-influenced street food from all over the world, take part in chilli workshops, and cool down with cocktails and craft beers in an uber-cool setting. The festival brings cultures from all over the world together, united by chillies under one fiery umbrella, showcasing a huge variety of cuisine: Indonesian street food from Ayam Happy, Mexican cuisine from El Padron, Peruvian street food from El Peruanito, and more. There's even dessert, such as Aguana Boca churros and chilli chocolate, or South Street ice cream. Live music comes courtesy of local bands playing folk and country sounds from around the world. This area has seen bands such as the Du Rell Family, Beltane and Akash Sultan Ansamble. There'll also be a series of masterclasses and workshops, revealing all sorts of chilli tips and secrets on how to cook and grow chillies. Experts include The World Of Zing and Made In Hackney, who make epic chilli oils. And then, of course, there'll be plenty of chilli sauces and marinades to buy from the festival's sponsor Encona, as well as several other producers including The Jay Curry Festival: Sri Lankan Pickles & Preserves, Zambian Chilli Products and Grim Reaper Foods. Event runs 12pm-6pm. Under 16s go free accompanied by a responsible adult.
