WHAT IS IT? A series of monologues at The Old Vic that commemorate 70 years of the NHS – with tickets exclusively discounted for Time Out. WHEN IS IT? As its founder Aneurin Bevan MP said: ‘No society can legitimately call itself civilised if a sick person is denied medical aid because of lack of means.’ To celebrate the NHS’s birthday, eight monologues, directed by Adrian Lester and curated by Lolita Chakrabarti, have been specially commissioned for the Old Vic. Each monologue will reflect a decade in the life of the NHS, and each evening will feature music performed by Gloria Obianyo.
