The Mentalists

A night of mental laughter

A hotel room, a long-standing friendship and a hair-raising plan. Award-winning actor Stephen Merchant makes his West End debut in this sharply written and darkly comic two-hander from Richard Bean, writer of smash hit comedy, One Man, Two Guvnors. Joining him is critically acclaimed actor, Steffan Rhodri with direction by rising star, Abbey Wright. Holed up in a faceless Finsbury Park hotel room Ted and Morrie are forced to confront the darker side of their unique relationship. Things unravel as the pressure mounts in this hilarious and touching tale of friendship and utopian visions gone awry. Wyndham's opened on 16 November 1899 with a revival of David Garrick by T W Robertson in which the theatre's owner Charles Wyndham and his future wife, Mary Moore, both appeared. "Stephen Merchant makes an impressive West End debut in this enjoyable "odd couple" comedy." – The Independent "Full of dark wit and tenderness." – The Times Recommended for ages 5 and up.
