2Pac and Janet Jackson star in this cult love story
Come along to The Orange Soda Film Club, so you can rediscover (or watch for the first time) those cult classics you missed out on when they first hit the big screen. The Film Club is a chance to revisit these films and an opportunity for the younger generation to discover their influence and importance in today's pop culture. This time around, they're screening 1993 romantic film Poetic Justice, directed by John Singleton – who also directed Boyz N The Hood. Featuring surprisingly good performances from both Tupac Shakur and Janet Jackson, as well as the poetry of Maya Angelou, this is an impressive story of a woman learning to live with grief. Before the film starts there'll be a warm-up set from DJ Skillit then a short film. There'll also be complimentary popcorn, drinks and ice cream provided, and a fully-stocked bar for anything else you need. Sounds like the perfect cinema experience. Over 15s only. Valid ID may be required. Certificate: 15. Runtime: 1 hour 44 minutes.
"…a softer, gentler film, more of a romance than a commentary on social conditions."
