From the fairytales of old to the pop music of today, from the classics of the Disney films to the real-life royalty, the use of the word princess has never been so wide-ranging. The Princess Monologues is a play that attempts to explore those meanings. In a series of 10-minute shorts, princesses from all different walks of life tell us what it means to be a royalty in the 21st Century. Delving into diverse stories and backgrounds, all monologues are set in our contemporary times and presented by a single performer. The Bread + Roses Theatre are also offering a little bonus if you come dressed as a princess. Come in a costume – get a quid back. Simple as that. Located upstairs at the Bread & Roses Pub in Clapham, the theatre has hosted everything from one-off shows to three-week runs, and welcomed award-winning theatre companies as well as new ensembles.
