The Shed With The Magic Lantern Remakes Album Launch + Special Guests

Kansas Smitty's plays host to one of East London's hardest working artists

"Woodshedding" is a musician's term meaning "going off to practice." It's typically used by jazz musicians to suggest a devotion to getting it right. Everybody at Smitty's spends significant time in "the shed", so they thought it would be the perfect name for their new weekly Thursday night concerts. Each week they invite guests and friends from across the musical landscape into "The Shed". With Smitty's creative direction, they'll work on new material and collaborate with new artists to perform a specially curated and arranged set. The Magic Lantern is an artist that will be well known to many musicians and listeners in east London. Working tirelessly, crafting new music and performing all over the capital and further afield. When the man behind the Lantern, Jamie Doe, approached Kansas Smitty's with his unique concept, things just happened naturally. He has asked many of his friends and colleagues to cover material from his recent release 'Love of to much living" Live ‘reinterpretations and reimaginings’ of his record are what will feature in the Shed this week. Further still the record and the original will both be available to buy on the night and all proceeds from the sale of the record will go to the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). Over 18s only. Valid ID required. The bar will be open from 6pm as usual with the concert starting at 9pm.
