"Woodshedding" is a musician's term meaning "going off to practice." It's typically used by jazz musicians to suggest a devotion to getting it right. Everybody at Smitty's spends significant time in "the shed", so they thought it would be the perfect name for their new weekly Thursday night concerts.
With brings us on to The Thumping Tommys. Don't let the dungarees fool you, these guys are no musical slouches. On mandolin, banjo, double bass and guitar with a deep knowledge of their craft and with the stories to back up their obvious joy in each others playing.
