The Woyzeck Theory

A play that inspires and provokes constructive thinking

Short-listed for Scottish Daily Mail Award, this is a radical retelling of Georg Büchner’s 1836 unfinished classic: ‘Woyzeck’. What governs humanity to commit inhumane acts? When people look into Woyzeck’s eyes they do not see an equal. They see an uneducated, unhoused, unethical dog. A man attempting to be human while standing on the brink of destruction. With social economic equality on the decline and an ever widening gap between the rich and a new underclass, we present a theory which maybe the answer to a number of questions that lie on the lips of society today. The Woyzeck Theory examines our own humanity in detail while paying homage to Brecht’s learning plays with the use of song and dramatic text. Over 16s only. Warning: this production contains scenes of sexual and violent nature as well as flashing lights.
